Thompson’s Mills State Heritage Site Preview
During October and early November, I’ve been restoring the mural emblems on the old silos at Thompson’s Mills State Heritage Site, Oregon’s new state park near Shedd, OR in Linn County. The silos were built in 1917.
The Albany Democrat-Herald newspaper has a recent story on the site, click here. The new park will open on December 9th, 2007. Stay tuned for a special section on my website profiling the restoration process! |

Thank You for Attending Our Show
I would like to sincerely thank all of you who attended the First Friday Opening Reception at Lunaria Gallery on October 5th. |
| |
Jewelry artist, Elaine Tan, of Red Shoe Studio and I were honored to be the featured artists and quite thrilled with the turn out. We have both been members of the co-op there for just more than a year now. It is a wonderful group of artists to know and share space and business with.

The show hung all month upstairs (see photo) and we appreciate the many visits to the gallery that took place during that time as well. I look forward to being featured at Lunaria again next year in July with jewelry artist Emily Start.
If you did not make it out last month, or were unable to go upstairs, most of my artwork remains on display right up front near the gallery's entrance now.
Stop in and have a look. Lunaria Gallery is open daily from 10am to 6pm and is located in historic Silverton at 113 North Water Street (503-873-7734).

Elaine Tan - Red Shoe Studio Custom Jewelry
Elaine Tan started Red Shoe Studio in 2003. Her work is comprised of one-of-a-kind or limited edition pieces that are individually designed and carefully handcrafted.
She primarily uses high quality natural stones, gems, pearls and other organic materials. Her focus is to create unique jewelry that brings out and complements the personality of the wearer, pieces that makes a statement as well as tell a story.
“My creative process begins with a simple idea that slowly weaves together a symphony of colors, textures and forms. I strive to create a delicate mix of balance vs. asymmetry, much like the balancing of the yin and the yang,” says Tan. |

| Lori Webb - Silver Stream Studio
Lori Webb’s new series of paintings and drawings focuses on Northwest landscapes and the intimate view of nature that has always inspired her.
“To capture a moment, such as a sunset on the water or glowing through the branches of a great tree, and to have a piece of art in that image fill a place in our home or office is a reflection of what we value in life. It is a way to keep what we love before us and to share it with others,” says Webb.
Originals as well as limited edition prints and cards are now available. |
