September 9th: Peacock Passion Get close up and expose that beautiful bird's feather pattern big-time with metallic watercolors that seem to be made just for this purpose. |

September 16th & 23rd: Sunshine & Sunflowers Trees grow in all shapes and sizes. We'll even use the shapes that aren't there (negative spaces) to compose this terrific tree with acrylic on canvas. |

September 30th & October 7th: Terrific Trees Trees grow in all shapes and sizes. Learn how to draw several different tree types with some surprisingly simple techniques. Use pencil, pastel and paint for the various approaches. |

October 14th: Lovely Leaves Colors are changing in the valley. Learn how to use colors from opposite sides of the color wheel and create foregrounds to make brilliant works of nature stand out. Various mediums will be covered. |

October 21st & 28th: Familiar Faces Discover proper proportions and common pitfalls in week one and advance to subtle shading and tapering perspectives on facial features in week two. |

November 4th & 11th: Island Escape
Feeling like winter is settling in? How about an artistic getaway to the beaches with warm sand and blue waters? Escape to the tropics using pen and ink finished with pastels or watercolors. |

November 18th: Watercolor a Waterfall Watercolors are meant to be translucent. What better way to show that than to choose one of Silver Falls State Park 's beautiful waterfalls as the subject! |

November 25th: Dragonfly Details Study the anatomy of real dragonflies to create this drawing in full detail. Use pen & ink to finish. |

December 2nd, 9th & 16th: Winter Bird
Start your process recognizing & reducing shapes, using gesture sketches and contour drawings. Find the right medium to create your snowy scene and utilize complementary colors as the cardinal emerges from the forest green. In the end, you will have a gorgeous note card for the season's greetings. You may even want tips on how to reproduce your image on multiple cards and keep the original! |
